Our Projects
ROSHNI NILAYA CHILDRENS HOME
ERODE, TAMIL NADU
At present there are over 60 children for whom we love, care for and support. This home is maintained by the generous gifts and monthly sponsorships from many individuals. We have new house parents, Samuel & Sophia, and it is evident that the children are very happy and more organized.

BUILD A CHURCH SCHEME
INDIA
The Build A Church Scheme (BACS) is a simple but effective scheme; through gifts from individuals/churches we have been able to build churches in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal regions of India. Many thousands of people have been added to the church via the BACS programme.

We have just built our 100th BACS church in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Indian Union Territory)!
What a massive milestone for LIM! Over the last 20 years, the Lord has enabled us to build just over 100 churches through our BACS Project. We are currently working on building our 101st BACS Church!
Other locations recently built: Gujarat, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.
SCHOOL WHEELS PROJECT
TAMIL NADU, SOUTH INDIA
We are ensuring approximately 150 children are getting to school for the first time in their lives. Many of these children could not afford to go to school and do not have the necessary records to be able to enrol and attend. They come from very poor communities in tribal districts and outlying areas some distance from local schools. Our staff and volunteers drive our school buses to pick up these children and transport them to and from their respective schools. Approximately half the fuel costs are paid for by the teachers themselves!

SCHOOL MAINTENANCE AND ASSISTANCE PROJECT
We have provided a new fresh water system including pipes and cisterns for a local school, enabling them to fill the school to its capacity with children. We also provided shutters and screens to help maximise classroom use. Further essential projects are ongoing.

FOOD PROGRAMMES
TAMIL NADU, ANDRA PRADESH, KARNATAKA
Several of these are up and running including villages which are totally off the map as it were. Reaching these communities is vital as they are often neglected and forgotten. Many are tribal people and we are dedicated to helping the poorest of the poor.
In Andra Pradesh, we are just about to begin sponsorship of one of our Slum Missions. This will bring food and relief from abject poverty to the children and families living in unimaginable conditions. LIM is now reaching into communities which are untouched and unvisited by any charitable organisations! This is a huge challenge and we want to bring medical assistance and other forms of humanitarian aid where and when we can. We are sponsoring this mission with the help of Roshni Nilaya and Carmel Ministries in Andra Pradesh.
Food nutrition is also at the heart of El Shaddai’s charitable work in Goa, where many children are clothed, fed and educated on a daily basis. LIM continues to support many of these children through the fantastic work Pastor Matthew and Julia Kurian are doing there.

MEDICAL, DENTAL AND OPTICAL WORK
We have carried out a number of sponsored operations for children in our care and for those in the wider community. An example is a recent child desperately needed a heart operation. His mother was murdered by his father, who is now in prison. The local authority contacted us to see if we could help. LIM paid for the operation, which was a great success. The boy and his sister are living with their grandparents and are being supported by our team on the ground, Roshni Nilaya, who are doing an amazing job in supporting in these situations. Several other medical procedures have been sponsored by LIM too. This includes critical dental treatment for a number of children in our care, and optical treatments often leading to the need for spectacles and ongoing support.

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT
A record number of our children are now in full time education, at colleges and or universities. Where we can, we do get bursaries, as many institutions are aware of our work amongst children and young people. As our children have been with us for many years now, they have reached a point when their needs are more educational than ever. We have many now requiring educational sponsorships. These are often quite expensive ranging from £20 per month to £100 per month, so we are very limited in what we can afford.

We also have supported a few of our young people in business. One of our girls has just started a clothing, design and tailoring business from her home. LIM has paid for the sewing machine to enable her to launch her business.
