About Us

Lighthouse International Ministries was founded in 1993 by Pastor Paul and Mags Hallam of The Lighthouse Church. We are a Christian ministry dedicated to supporting the poorest communities, vulnerable adults, and abandoned or semi-abandoned children through compassion, faith and practical care.

For over 30 years, Lighthouse International Ministries has supported projects across India, Romania and Africa, helping to alleviate poverty and bring hope to those in need. Through local partnerships and community outreach, we work to restore dignity, provide support and create lasting impact.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

The story of LIM began in 1993, when Pastor Paul and Mags Hallam responded to the crisis in Romania after the Ceaușescu years.

Thousands of children had been left to suffer in overcrowded institutions described as “orphanages that looked and smelled like POW camps for children.”

Moved by the desperate conditions and the needs of vulnerable children, LIM was founded to bring practical help, care, and hope.

One of the first major projects was building a Day Care Centre through LIM’s Romanian branch, now known as Casa Luminii.

Today, the centre is better known as the Lighthouse Centre, a building funded entirely by LIM.

In the early years, LIM sponsored and trained staff to care for children with special needs, helping create a safe and supportive environment for them.

LIM also funded the construction of a multi-sensory room at the centre, which became a great success in supporting children with additional needs.
